New Employee Selection & Onboarding

This CapstoneEDU learning module is designed to inspire and equip you with selection and onboarding practices that provide rock-solid first impressions to your new employees while laying down roots that will increase the chances that your newly selected employees will blossom into excellent members of your team.

Through this flexible and experiential approach to adult learning, you'll move through 4 Levels of Learning & Activities by completing 20 "missions" (. . . bite-sized learning followed by processing/practicing). The major content is divided into two main components: Strengthening Your Selection Practices and Strengthening your Onboarding Practices.

Set your own pace as you complete the missions. The estimated time commitments are as follows:

Level 1 - 4 Missions - 2.5-3.0 Hours

Level 2 - 5 Missions - 1.5-3.0 Hours

Level 3 - 5 Missions - 1.5-3.0 Hours

Level 4 - 4 Missions - 0.5-1.0 Hour

This course is packed with great instruction, as well as great resources/examples - and, a connection with other leaders also participating in the course.

Nursing Contact Hours: Attendee must attend the full presentations and pass the test to receive the Capstone Leadership Training completion certificate. Contact hours are awarded upon completion of the course. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing: Provider #16063. Approved for 6.0 Contact Hours.

Beginner or Advanced Learners: If you are new to leadership or to this content, you'll want to complete every mission in this course. If you are an experienced leader and/or maybe one that has adopted some or all of these tactics after participating in our live training or reading our book, The Employee Experience, you may find select the option to SKIP missions or practice activities that are ones you have already mastered in the past.

    As you get started, you'll meet your course mentor and get connected with others in the course, check in on your motivation, mindset & complete an assessment of the "current state" of your practices and results. An overview video is also included early on so you can get some quick wins.

  • Level 02

    Strengthening SELECTION

    The 7 missions in this level of the course are designed to inspire and equip you to adopt a new mindset and best practices for selecting new employees. The recruitment and selection process may be a job applicants first impression of your organization -- make it a GREAT one.

  • Level 03

    Strengthening ONBOARDING

    Your new rock star employees are likely watching you more than you are watching them. What are they experiencing in these early days of employment? Is this experience GREAT? Is it setting them up for success? Will they be so glad they said YES to joining your team?

  • Level 04

    Wrapping Up

    As the course closes out, you'll be prompted to allocate time in the future to reassess your Selection & Onboarding practices and results. As well, you'll get to test your knowledge, evaluate the course, and download your Certificate of Completion.
